Let’s Build Something Creative Together
Agency for Peace Initiatives and Inclusive Development (APID) is a nonprofit humanitarian and development organization that was founded in 2013 with the aim of improving the living standards of pastoral communities in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia.
APID is dedicated to advancing the roles of women and children and actively involving them in the promotion of socio-economic, political, cultural, and environmental development.
The organization operates under a Do No Harm (DNH) approach, which involves continuous risk assessment and consideration of potential unintended consequences to ensure that its efforts result in a secure and healthy future for the communities it serves.
APID believes that involving youth and women in development is crucial for achieving a sustainable future, and its programs and initiatives are guided by this belief. The organization operates in Northern Kenya, Southern Somalia and the Somali Region in Ethiopia and is committed to making a lasting impact in these regions.
APID is an indigenous and community-driven organization that leverages its comparative advantage to gain the support of marginalized populations and improve their livelihoods.
The organization partners with international and national NGOs, governments (national and local), community-based organizations (youth, women, and people living with disabilities), and communities. APID implements practical programs to enable community development, empowerment, and well-being, and recognizes that the communities it works with should be at the center of their own development.
APID is committed to creating a brighter future for the people it serves by promoting peace, improving nutrition, and reducing the impact of climate change and disasters. The organization’s community-driven approach makes it well-positioned to achieve its goals and make a lasting impact in the regions it serves.
