In the recent past, Horn of Africa has been adversely facing insecurity concerns, which impedes peace and tranquility in many parts of the region. Tribalism and negative ethnicity are evident in many communities.

Through its peace building and conflict management program APID works with communities, county and national government as well as civil society organizations to effectively contribute to improved security and peaceful co-existence within and across the national borders.

At APID we believe that building the resilience of communities to withstand external and internal shocks such as those caused by conflicts and violent extremism is a necessary pre-requisite for a peaceful, just and inclusivity society.

Our approach to peace building and conflict management includes strengthening resilience of communities against violent extremism, addressing the root causes of resource-based conflict, preventing political violence through dialogue and consensus building, supporting conflict early warning and early response initiatives and building positive and mutually constructive cross border relations amongst communities.
