Education & Protection
Empowering individuals through knowledge, skills, safety, and opportunity.
At APID, we empower individuals—especially youth and women—with the education, life skills, and certifications they need to break the cycle of poverty and build sustainable futures. We are committed to promoting the rights, safety, and well-being of children, while advancing gender equality in every learning environment.
We envision a world where all children are protected from abuse, exploitation, and neglect, and where every child—regardless of gender—has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
People Reached
Regional Challenges

Somalia
Decades of conflict have displaced over 3.5 million people, significantly limiting access to learning and protection services.

Kenya, Ethiopia
While education systems are improving, rural areas continue to face infrastructure deficits and a shortage of trained teachers.

Youth across East Africa
Many face disrupted education, leading to limited economic opportunities and reinforcing cycles of poverty and instability.
How We Work

1
Skills Building & Apprenticeship
Equipping youth with hands-on vocational skills for self-reliance. We offer tailored TVET and apprenticeship programs focused on local industries including agriculture, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship — especially for pastoralist and underserved communities.
2
Education, Protection & Safeguarding
We create safe and inclusive learning environments for children and youth. We strengthen community-based child protection systems, support school re-entry programs, and promote psychosocial well-being through teacher and parent training.

3
Urban Resilience Initiatives
Supporting youth and children in fragile urban environments. We work in informal settlements to improve access to education, social services, and youth-led solutions for sustainable learning, safety, and dignity.
